St Nicholas Lillingstone Dayrell

Dear Parents,

I am pleased to advise that we will be participating in the annual Year 1 event of going to Lillingstone Dayrell Church, to decorate the Christmas tree. This will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 5th December. The children will be making the beautiful Christmas decorations for this activity in school on Friday 1st December. This year we would like to invite Year 1 parents to the church to see the wonderful decorations which the children have made and also the beautiful tree which they will have decorated. We would also like to invite you to join us in singing some Christmas carols to celebrate this festive activity with the children. This is a wonderful and exciting trip for the children, which will hopefully get them all excited about Christmas and this very special time of year.

As this is a local off-site visit, consent has already kindly been provided by parents when your child joined the school. They will be travelling to the church via the school mini-bus after lunch. Please may we ask parents to join us at the church at 2pm to participate in the carol singing? Alternatively, if you are unable to join us for the carol singing, may we ask you to collect your child from the church at 2.30pm at the end of this event? If however, your child needs to be returned to school, ie who normally travels to school via school transport or if they will be attending After School Club, they can be transported via the school mini bus from the church back to the Akeley site. However, it is essential that you advise the school of these arrangements to ensure your child’s safety. Please can you complete and return the relevant consent slips attached, by Friday 24th November.

If you would like any further details about the trip please do not

hesitate to contact me. May we also ask that if any of your child’s

medical details or contact details have changed, please could you

notify the school office.

Kind regards,

Mrs Clarke

(Year 1 Teacher)
