Extra Curriculum Clubs

In addition to our fantastic breakfast and after school club, we are thrilled to welcome children to the other extra curricular clubs we offer.  The timetabling of these clubs varies according to the time of year, but please do feel free to check to school calendar pages to see what's on offer.  We look forward to seeing your child there!

Choir

In the Autumn term, Miss Claridge and Mrs Barker ran a school choir club. The children practiced songs from the film "Nativity," which they then performed at the Christmas Carol concert at the end of term. The children performed "Nazareth" and "One night one moment." There were certainly a few tears during the performance.

Gardening Club

At our Akeley site, Miss Thompson and Mrs Cooper run a half termly gardening club. So far this year the children have cleared the flowers beds (a very big job!), planted some shrubs, planted some Spring bulbs, and watered the area. We have planted a selection of wild flower seeds in one bed, some tulip and daffodil bulbs in another, and some sensory plants in our final bed. The club is very popular amongst the children so the Year One and Two rotate on a weekly basis.

In Spring we are looking forward to making some bird feeders, taking part in the RSPB big bird watch, and making some bug houses.

Sketching Club

In the Autumn term the children at the Akeley site enjoyed coming in from the cold to take part in Sketching Club with Mrs Clarke and Mrs Roe. We watched a video giving us step by step instructions on how to draw the chosen picture (an Autumn tree, a bear sleeping etc.). We then gave it a go ourselves using special sketching pencils. We were very pleased with the results.
