Thursday 7th May
It's the last working day of this week as tomorrow is a Bank Holiday to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. VE Day stands for Victory in Europe day, and it marks the ending of World War II on 8th May 1945. I was recently lucky enough to be looking through my Nan's memory box and found two of her diaries - one being from 1945. It was amazing to think that she marked the very first VE Day in her diary and is what inspired me to keep a diary over the last few weeks being at home.
Take a look on the classes page (where you find Year 5) and there is a special VE Day tab. Here you will find lots of activities for you to help celebrate the occasion. I have put up English and Maths activities for Friday, but they are optional as it wouldn't ordinarily be a school day!
Have a great day today and a happy bank holiday weekend - I'll speak to you again on Monday.
Wednesday 6th May
Happy Wednesday - midweek already!
I hope that you all had a good day yesterday - I've been trying something new and doing some yoga at home...it was very relaxing! I wonder if any of you have tried something new or have been practising your skills and getting better at something you had already started.
I hope that you all have a good day.
Speak to you tomorrow.
Tuesday 5th May
I hope that you're all doing well
I'm so happy that we're seeing the sunshine a bit more this week...even if it's a little breezy! I'm hoping the wind doesn't blow my beautiful roses away that are just starting to open! I've got some plants to put in so I'm hoping to get that done later after doing some work - it's good to balance your down time with work time and do the things you enjoy doing to keep you smiling! I hope that you liked my message on the school video - take a look if you haven't already!
Have a great day and speak to you tomorrow!
Monday 4th May
(or some of you may know it as Star Wars Day - May the 4th (force) be with you!)
This week brings us to week 7 of not being at school. I'm sure it probably seems like a long time ago to you all now! You are all doing a brilliant job please remember that!
I hope that you all had a lovely weekend - we had a birthday in the house so had a game of pin the horn on the unicorn (like pin the tail on the donkey). I must say I was pretty good at it, although we had much debate about the positioning - I think Mr Harper just wanted to win!!
I'm looking forward to the return of the sunshine this week and can hopefully work outside . I'm also hoping to record a few more chapters of our book Street Child - I'm looking forward to finding out how Rosie is going to help Jim!
Have a great week all and I'll speak to you again tomorrow.
