Week 4 - W/C 22/6/20

Friday 26th June

Good morning Year Four!

Well done for your efforts on TTRockstars yesterday! Almost half the class have joined in so good job to those of you who have! It's the last day of the battle today - it will end at 15:15 - so keep going and let's see what score you can achieve this week!

I can't believe that it's Friday again and that we now only have three weeks left of school.

We had a BBQ last night as it was so hot. I love sitting outside to eat...makes me feel like I'm on a mini holiday!

I hope that you all have a great weekend...I'm hoping to get some gardening done!

Speak to you on Monday.

Thursday 25th June

Good morning Year Four!

I hope that you all had a good day yesterday and managed to keep cool! It was so warm it makes it more difficult to sleep doesn't it?! We took our dog out for a walk at 7am and it was already 18°C and VERY hot in the sun!! It's going to be the hottest day so far today, so make sure that you are taking care when out in the sunshine and that you are drinking lots of water!

Well done to those of you who've been busy on TTRockstars! Year Six have got a score up there now and I know that Mrs Smith is going to remind them tomorrow, so keep it up!!

I hope that you all have a great day and speak to you again tomorrow.

Good morning mighty, mighty Year 4!

I hope you have all been making the most of the glorious weather whilst remembering to stay hydrated  and safe in the sun.

I have been keeping an eye on the TTRockstars battle as promised, and can see that you are doing really well, but you haven't had too much opposition from the year 6's so far I did tell them at the beginning of the week, but I shall remind those in my bubble that their pride is at stake! Hopefully, that might heat up the competition for you all. Big shout outs to India who has racked up almost 1500 points so far, Gabriella and Theo who are both well on their way to scoring 1000 points each and further congratulations to Harvey, Evie S., Gabriel, and Ewan who have all scored over 200 points each. Well done to everyone who has taken part so far. It's not too late to try and smash your score of over 11,000 from last week against the Y5's!

Keep up the good work, and I'll check in with you again very soon,

Much love,

Mrs S xxx

Wednesday 24th June

Good morning Year Four!

What a scorcher it was yesterday - and it looks like it will be again today!! I usually set up to work outside on sunny days, but I had to stay in with the air conditioner on instead to keep cool. You can see below that Elly was enjoying it too! However, Rigby (my cat) decided that all sorts of strange places in the garden were the best places to rest - what do you think? Have a look at the pictures below!

Well done for continuing with the TTRockstars battle. Although Year Six haven't taken up the challenge as yet, watch out as there may be a surge later on in the week!

Have a good day, and I will speak to you tomorrow.

Tuesday 23rd June

Good morning Year Four!

Firstly, how cute is Mrs Smith's new puppy Quinn?! I really wish that I could give her a snuggle, she's so lovely!

Mr Harper gave Elly a lockdown haircut last night and she looks like a puppy again, so I'll try and get a good picture of her today looking adorable! I've seen some not so successful DIY haircuts given during lockdown though...have you seen any disasters?! Most of them involve hair clippers and the guard coming off so that the recipient ends up with a bald stripe down the middle of their head!

Yesterday evening, post haircut, we went for a lovely stroll and really got to appreciate our beautiful countryside that surrounds us.

I've spotted Ewan on the "Wrigley Writes" page, on his bike - it looks just like somewhere I used to do exactly the same when I was your age! I also loved your version of "The Starry Night" by Van Gogh. There was also some more fantastic Science by Stanley! Check it out the page if you haven't seen it yet!

You also made a good start to the TTRockstars battle...Year Six were still on zero when I last looked! Let's see if you can beat your score from last week!

Have a great day - it's going to be hot, hot, hot!

Speak to you again tomorrow.

Monday 22nd June

Good morning Year Four!

I hope that you all had a great weekend smiley

Firstly, massive congratulations on your TTRockstars win last week! I've set a new battle this week, so you're now battling Year Six to retain your title. You've got until 15:15 Friday. I was so impressed with your had me on the edge of my seat! Well done to those of you who took part!

We were really busy in the garden this weekend, but really it was Elly (our dog) who had the right idea...just chilling out on the bench (take a look at the picture below). It's looking like it's going to be a scorching week this week so make sure that you've got cream and hats on if you're out in the sun and stay hydrated (lots of cool drinks!).

I hope you have a great day and speak to you again tomorrow!

Good Morning Year 4!

I hope you all had a great week last week, despite the wet weather?

I was so thrilled to see that you won your TT Rockstars battle. I must admit I was a little worried when I looked at the scores on Thursday, but you really rallied and came back to steal a very convincing victory. Huge congratulations to everyone that took part. I see that Mrs Harper has upped the challenge this week and you will be battling the 6's. Good Luck! I'll be keeping a close eye on the scores throughout the week, to see how you are getting on.

I had a very exciting day yesterday. We finally went and picked up Quinn. She was the first one to leave the litter, but she has taken it all in her stride and has been enjoying playing chase in the garden with Toby and Imogen. I think that they both tired her out as she slept through all night, without so much as a whimper. Fingers crossed for the same tonight. I've posted a couple of picture below for you to see her.

Have a great week, and enjoy the fabulous weather, but do remember to stay safe in the sun.

Much love,

Mrs S xxx
