Week 3 - W/C 15/6/20

UPDATE: I've just logged on to TTRockstars...this is becoming a very exciting battle! It's now even closer than it's ever been...come on Year Four, you can do it!

Friday 19th June

Good morning Year Four!

Woweeee! You did a great job on TTRockstars yesterday! You've nearly caught up with Year Five! You've got until 15:15 today and then the battle will end. I think it's going to be a close one between you both! Well done to those of you who joined it - almost half the class have participated...let's see if we can get a few more people to join in to finish off the battle.

Have a great day and weekend and I will announce the winners on Monday morning!

Thursday 18th June

Good Morning Year Four!

I hope that you all had a good day yesterday!

It was great to see that more of you have joined in with the battle against Year Five on TTRockstars - you're catching them up - keep going!!

I hope no one got caught in the thunderstorm yesterday - I was out in my garden and had to quickly run indoors before it poured down! There is something nice and refreshing though about a storm and it turned into a beautiful evening, which was lovely. My poor dog HATES storms and she wouldn't leave my side as the thunder was rumbling around overhead.

Have a fantastic Thursday and I will speak to you all again tomorrow!

Wednesday 17th June

Good morning Year Four!

Well I was pleasantly surprised with the weather yesterday as I thought it was going to rain all day! Instead I enjoyed some time out in the sunshine in between working at home. I find that I like to do a bit of work and then reward myself with a little break walking around in my garden. I wonder if any of you are doing the same?

I've just logged in to TTRockstars and I can see that you've been giving the Year Fives a challenge and caught up with them a bit - well done! I have to say I found it very challenging, but it kept my braincells whirring!

Keep up the good work and I'll speak to you again tomorrow.

Tuesday 16th June

Good morning Year Four!

I hope that you all had a good day yesterday.

It was such a beautiful day that I did my work outside. You'll soon get to know that I love being out in my garden - it's my favourite place to be and I'm very grateful to have such a lovely place to go to. I wonder if any of you have been noticing the nature around you much more? We have two Robins that visit us in our garden to say hello. They particularly love it when we are gardening as they come looking for the worms!

Well done to those of you who have been taking part in the TTRockstars battle against Year Five. They are sneaking ahead of you so let's see if more of you can join in and get the scores up a bit more!

Have a good day and I'll speak to you again tomorrow.

Monday 15th June 2020

Good morning Year 4!

I hope that you are all well and had a great weekend.

It's been a while since I've spoken to you, but I'll be hijacking the daily diary from now on, so you'll hear from me lots until the end of term! I can't believe that there are only 5 weeks left.

I've been looking through your activities and it looks like Mrs Smith has been very busy planning lots of activities for you all. Just to remind you, if you have a look underneath the "daily activities and home learning resources" tab > "Daily activities", you will find instructions from Mrs Smith detailing the activities she has planned for you. The weekly planning for English can be found under the "English Resources" tab and under the "White Rose Maths Resources" you will find the Maths worksheets and a link to the video lessons. Both of these subjects have daily activities planned. My class read "The Indian in the Cupboard" last year with Mrs Dandy and they really enjoyed it, so I hope that you do too! This week's activities are based on instruction writing.

In addition to this, there is a Science tab where you will find weekly Science lessons, a PE tab and, on the first Year 4 page, you will find the "Road Trip USA! Dip and Do Homework Project" tab, for a great choice of topic activities.

I thought that you might like a challenge, so I've set up a battle on TTRockstars between you and Year Five. Just a warning...I challenged them last week and they beat me by miles! Mind you it was all 26 of them versus me, so I did have a big challenge on my hands!!

Remember to keep up with your reading and spellings too!

I hope that you all have a great day, keep trying your best, and I'll speak too you again (on here) tomorrow.
