Friday 12th June
Well...what can I say?! You well and truly beat me in the battle on TTRockstars!! I had a good go at catching up, but could not compete with you all! Great job! Freya Shaw 4,000 points - goodness me!! Next week, I think I'll set up a battle between Year 5 and Year 4 and see if they fair any better against you!
I can't believe that it's Friday already!
I hope that you've all had a good week and enjoy the weekend.
Thursday 11th June
I hope that you all had a good day yesterday...some of you have been VERY busy on the TTRockstars battle - I've got A LOT of catching up to do! Big well done to those of you who have been involved so far.
One of my favourite activities when we were at school was think outside the box Thursday. Maybe you could challenge one of your family members with one today?
Fun fact: On this day in 1509, Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon!
I hope that you all have a good day and remember - just keep trying your best!
Wednesday 10th June
I had a really happy day yesterday because I received some lovely emails from Hannah showing me what she has been up to...she sent me a video of her and her horses and it really made me smile . Hannah also sent me a picture of her no-sew bag and the medal she made and I've attached them below so that you can see them too. I'm sure that you'll agree she did a great job!
It's great when you (via your parents) get in touch because that's what I miss most about teaching from behind my laptop - I don't get to see the fabulous work you are doing! I also miss chatting to you all and hearing your stories. I've had a few emails from parents too telling me about the great work you've been doing and that makes me so proud, because I know that it has been a bit of a challenge for all of us these last few weeks.
If you want to get in touch, I'm always at the end of an email via the school office - even if it is just to say hello!
I've also been busy battling you on TTRockstars, so well done to those children who are joining in...I must say it's challenging me!
Have a wicked Wednesday and I will talk to you tomorrow.
Tuesday 9th June
I hope that you had a good day yesterday! I wonder whether you have all heard about my exciting news?! I'm so sad that I didn't get to tell you all in person!
A few people this week have sent me some great pictures of the work they've been doing. I have been treated to some fantastic planets artwork and also a brilliant no-sew bag. I must say you have been honing those creativity skills whilst working at home!
For those of you wanting more of a challenge, I've included a tab under the maths section of the home learning page called challenges. Under this, you will find a whole host of links to Maths investigations of different levels of challenge. One star being the least challenging and three stars being the most. There is also a selection of Maths Mastery questions. Why not take a look once you have completed your daily lesson?
Have a terrific Tuesday!
Monday 8th June
I hope that you all had a good weekend - it was a bit of a dreary one weather wise wasn't it. We said we could hardly believe we were sweltering out in the garden a couple of weeks ago!
I've got a bit of a confession - I had a snuggle up on the sofa weekend as it was a bit of a wet one. It's just as important to have "down days" sometimes to relax as it is getting lots of things done. I wonder how many of you had the same idea this weekend? I even had some lovely warming rice pudding with chopped up dried apricots...yum yum!
The beginning of a new week, so I hope that you all have a good one. Remember to check out chapters thirteen and fourteen of Street Child, which can be found under the tab on the first Year Five page.
