We arrived at Everdon safely and were welcomed by our lovely ranger Mike. We acclimatised ourselves to our new home for the day, had a fire practice and lunch before heading into the woods.
We set off on a pretty but brisk walk through the village into Everdon Stubbs learning about the plants we passed on the way.
When in the woods we stopped to learn about badgers and saw a real life badger village! Some children even found badger hair and a badger toilet!
Next, we learnt about mini beasts and went on a mini beast hunt, we found lots of woodlice, beetles, centipedes, a millipede and may more creatures. The children then made houses or ‘luxury hotels’ for their mini-beasts, some were even inhabited by the time we left!
