Friday 22nd May 2020
Hi year one. Well a whole week has past since I last messaged. I have been busy preparing activities for year 2 and I've been into work with the keyworker children. I am in Chackmore today with Mrs Andrews.
I am missing seeing you all so much and I know your parents had a video chat with Mrs Clarke, Mrs Pedder and Mrs Wrigley this morning. Perhaps I will see if I can arrange a video chat with you all and Mrs Clarke when term starts again.
Next week I hope to do some planting in my garden. I would also like to spend some time with my sons, but they are teenagers so I think the playstation and xbox will be more appealing to them than spending more time with me . I will drag them out for a walk every day though they can't escape me that easily. Enjoy half term next week, hopefully the sunshine will continue and you will be able to spend lots of time outside in the fresh air. Stay safe and be kind.
Sending lots of virtual hugs and squeezes.

Hello year one I hope you are all well and having some fun taking part in the activities Mrs Clarke has planned for you. I saw her this week and we said how much all your messages that you send to Mrs Wrigley brighten up the day. I'm loving all Arthurs science experiments.
I hope you all had a good time on VE Day I caught a very brief glimpse of the red arrows as they raced past on the way to their flyover and had a lovely BBQ with Mr Kerins and my boys.
This week has been mostly spent sorting out cupboards and cleaning for me not very fun or exciting! I did make a lemon drizzle cake for Mr Kerins though that was fun. I seem to get more mixture over me than in the cake tin whenever I bake. I'll have to ask Mrs Pedder or Mrs Chapman for some tips as they bake beautiful cakes.
I'm going into Chackmore today with Mrs Andrews which will be lovely. I hope you all have a super weekend stay safe and be kind to each other.
Sending lots of virtual hugs.

Good morning. Well another week has passed and the sun is shining again just in time for the bank holiday weekend. This week I am very happy that I finally completed the 1000 piece jigsaw Mr Kerins brought home for me (I may have had a little help from Riley) and very grateful that a friend kindly dropped off a beautiful ornament so that I can always remember the time we are spending at home.
I've been into Chackmore this week and yesterday I printed off some bunting from the VE day section on the school website located under the class pages for the children them to colour in. Have you got any bunting around your house or garden? I'm going to put some up today I'll take a photo when it's done and show you next week. There are lots of things we can do to celebrate VE day in our homes and gardens. The street my Mum and Dad live on are planning on having afternoon tea on their own front lawns keeping to the social distancing rules of course and someone is going to play music for them all. Mr Kerins and my boys are planning a BBQ for us all to enjoy. Send in pictures of your celebrations all the teachers love to see your smiling faces and catching up with what you have been doing.
Keep safe whatever you're up to. Sending lots of hugs and squeezes your way.

Good morning year one. I hope you are all well and staying safe. I have been keeping busy since my last message. I have been into Chackmore to help the children of keyworkers in our school community and I have been enjoying the sunshine in the garden. Although the weather is not going to let me do that today.
On Saturday I saw Mrs Parsons and Celeste, they were off on their bike ride and stopped by to drop off a lovely card and brooch Celeste had made for me. We had a socially distanced chat about what we had all been up to. It really was lovely to see them both and thank you so much for popping by and the gorgeous brooch.
Keeping in touch with people is so important it can cheer you up even on the rainiest day. I have been having a weekly cup of tea with some of my friends over video chat and yesterday I had a really nice catch up with Mrs Wrigley over the phone.
Right I think it may be time for another cup of tea!
I'll message again soon until the stay safe and have fun!

Good morning year one I hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely sunshine we have been having. It has been a busy week this week as I am doing some home learning of my own. I'm learning sign language I have to go online just like you and complete activities. So far I've managed to learn how to sign the alphabet and how to fingerspell words. I'm really enjoying it.
Yesterday I had a really lovely day as I got to see Mrs Wrigley I thought I'd surprise her and dropped some flowers on her doorstep to let her know I am thinking about her and miss seeing her lots. I also spent time with Mrs Clarke, Mrs Pedder, Kieron and Mrs Saunders as I went into Chackmore to look after some of our fantastic key worker children. It was great to see everyone and we were all saying how much we miss all our St James and St John family but we need to stay safe and follow all the guidance we are given by the people in charge. My fabulous day didn't end there as when I got home I had received a lovely email from Annabel's Mummy it was so nice to hear from them. I love reading Wrigley Writes and seeing all the amazing things you've all been doing. Stay safe, have a fabulous weekend and keep smiling.
Sending hugs and squeezes to you all.

Good morning. Have you all been looking after your families and being kind to them? It's hard sometimes spending so much time together. I know sometimes my boys just need to go and sit on their own and have a break. I have been reading or listening to music for a little while when it gets too much in my house.
Mr Kerins has been finding lots of interesting objects in the garage again. He found a dart board this weekend and has attached it to a wall in the garden. It's great for practising maths adding all the scores together.
Mrs Clarke has been really busy preparing all your activities this week and I see she has made some new friends on her walks.
Have you seen all the lovely rainbows on Wrigley Writes? If you've been creating rainbows send in a picture I know everyone would love to see them.
Have a great day.
Sending massive hugs.

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all well and enjoying all the gorgeous sunshine we've been having. It was a little bit chilly yesterday though. How was your Easter? Did you have an egg hunt?
We had a very different Easter than usual as I'm sure you all did too. We usually have a house full of family and we eat lots of yummy food. This year we still ate lots of food but there were less people in the house. We still spent time with family video calling and speaking on the phone. On Friday we had a barbeque and rediscovered a frisbee that was lurking in the back of our garage. We had a good game where we had to count how many times we could pass the frisbee to each other without dropping it. We managed 150 after a lot of practise! This morning I've been reading all about Mrs Wrigley's Easter on Wrigley Writes. I wonder if she has eaten all her Easter eggs yet?
I've also been finding some great science experiments that you may can try. They are fun and you may have the things you need already at home. Have a look at them and see.
Enjoy the sunshine and happy experimenting.

Good morning year one. How are your Easter Holidays so far? I hope you are keeping well and enjoying the sunshine. It's been really busy in our house so far. I have been getting lots of jobs done around the house and playing lots of board games with my family. We have a family quiz every other day so looking for questions can take up quite a lot of our time.
I've put up our Easter tree and Bumble bear in my dining room window. My son Riley has been busy making gingerbread. Here's the recipe if you would like to bake some yourselves they are really tasty.
350g/12oz plain flour, plus extra for rolling
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
125g/4.5 oz butter
175g/6oz light soft brown sugar
4 tbsp golden syrup
1. Sift together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon into a bowl. Add the butter and blend until the mix looks like breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar.
2. Lightly beat the egg and golden syrup together, add this to the bowl and combine until the mixture clumps together. Tip the dough out, knead briefly until smooth, wrap in clingfilm and leave to chill in the fridge for 15 minutes.
3. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.
4. Roll the dough out to a 0.5cm/quarter inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Using cutters, cut out the gingerbread men shapes and place on the baking tray, leaving a gap between them.
5. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes, or until lightly golden-brown. Leave on the tray for 10 minutes and then move to a wire rack to finish cooling. When cooled decorate with whatever you like.
Happy baking and huge hugs.

Good morning year one. How are you today? How is it April already! I hope you've been looking after everyone you live with and having a bit of fun whilst working your way through your home learning packs.
I've had a very busy morning so far. My eldest son Jacob works at Tesco in Buckingham as he doesn't drive yet I drove him to work for 7am and then I did a food shop for my sister. We are having a family quiz later and it's my turn to come up with the questions so I've made up a few questions for that too. What games do you play with your family?
I found something new to put in your windows, as well as displaying rainbows and bears for people to search for when they are doing their daily exercise you could also display some decorated Easter egg pictures so people can go on an egg hunt as well.
I've attached some Easter egg colouring sheets for you as I know how much you all love colouring.
Have a wonderful Friday. Happy colouring.
Sending hugs and squeezes.

Hello year one how are you all today?
I hope you've been giving all the people you live with extra hugs while you're at home. My family are getting extra ones as I'm missing out on all the ones I normally get from you guys and the other teachers at school.
As it's a nice sunny day today I'm planning on going out to my garden to read a book. Have you been reading in lots of different places? You could send a photo to Mrs Wrigley or me showing us your reading spots.
Last night I played scrabble with Mr Kerins just like Mrs and Mr Pedder. What games have you been playing? I found a snakes and ladders game for you to download and print it even gives you the dice to make. Let me know how you get on.
Big hugs and squeezes to you all.
Friday 27th March 2020
Good morning year one how are you all today? I hope you've been looking after yourselves and helping out at home where you can. I'm missing you all and have been looking at the Wrigley Writes page to see what everyone has been up to. I've also been reading the EYFS page Mrs Chapman, Mrs Andrews and Miss Richardson have been updating daily and I am loving Miss Richardsons jokes and quizzes.
We've been taking part in Joe Wicks PE lessons at our house my two boys Jacob who is 17 and Riley, who is 15 are very good at it. I am struggling to keep up but I'm going to persevere and keep trying.
Did you take part in clapping for the carers last night? Where I live there were lots of people standing outside their houses cheering and clapping. I hope we can all do this again to show our support to the lovely doctors and nurses and others that work for the NHS.
I'd love to hear from you so you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org you can let me know what you've been up to and how you're getting on with all your home learning.
Sending big hugs and squeezes to you all. Take care of everyone around you.
