Mission Statement, Aims and Values

Our school is a Church of England Primary School and a place where Christian values form the basis of all our policy and practice. Our school motto is ‘Unite and prosper’ as we feel that this statement clearly articulates what the school is about – working together to achieve. Governors, Staff and Parents are committed to providing the best possible education and experience for each child according to their individual needs, abilities and choices.

Mission Statement:

Within a framework of Christian values and community support, we will ensure that each child, by receiving a stimulating and challenging education, will fulfil their potential, thereby equipping them with the skills to face the challenges of the 21st century and a journey of life-long learning.

School Aims:

  • Every child’s unique qualities will be appreciated and nourished so that their potential is fully realised in a supportive Christian environment;
  • Every child will be supported to become lively, enquiring and enthusiastic learners;
  • Every child will be encouraged to pursue excellence in all aspects of school life to be the best that they can;
  • Every child will be well supported in an environment underpinned by Christian values, where they feel safe and secure, able to take risks and make mistakes, showing respect for one another and valuing difference:
  • Every child will be encouraged to develop an understanding and appreciation of the world in which they live;
  • Parents/Carers will be expected to be fully involved in all aspects of their child’s education and learning.

St James & St John Church of England School have six core values. These values have been carefully chosen by all stakeholders including children, parents, staff and governors. Our values underpin all that we do at St James & St John and we explore these values in depth.During our collective worship, we aim to make these values central to everything we do at school and in life.
